
Lottie Whalen is a writer, researcher and curator, based in Glasgow, UK. After completing a PhD on the modernist poet and artist Mina Loy at Queen Mary University of London, she published her first book – Radicals and Rogues: the Women Who Made New York Modern – with Reaktion in October 2023 (and in US December 2023 via University of Chicago Press). She co-runs the interdisciplinary arts project Decorating Dissidence. As a curator, she works with archives and heritage to open up new perspectives on under-explored aspects of shared history. In this capacity she has worked with a range of heritage and third sector organisations, including Historic Environment Scotland and Empower Women for Change (leading its Thistles and Dandelions project).
